Spot and Stain Management

To keep your carpets looking at their best, there are a few simple measures you can take:

  • Provide efficient entry matting to reduce tracked in soil.
  • Vacuum routinely with a well maintained, good quality vacuum cleaner to clean & lift the pile and prevent particles becoming embedded. You cannot over vacuum your carpet.
  • Take care with spots & spills.
  • Have your carpets professionally cleaned on a regular basis.

DO NOT RUB OR SCRUB YOUR CARPET AS YOU RISK PERMANENT PILE DISTORTION

  • Scoop up solids
  • Blot as much liquid as possible using clean white towelling or paper
  • Apply the appropriate treatment according to the manufacturer's recommendations
  • Rinse with cold or luke warm water
  • Blot dry with absorbent material or use a cold air fan to complete drying
General Tips
  • Do not over wet into backing materials
  • Only use cleaning agents and spot removal methods as recommended by the manufacturer
  • Always test any cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area of carpet prior to treating a stain
  • Use cleaning agents at recommended dilution ratios
  • Scrape up or blot up any access prior to treatment
  • Never rub or scrub
  • Do not use inappropriate detergents on carpets or upholstery i.e. (washing up liquid, wash powders, household bleach, disinfectants)
  • Always work from the out side of the stain inward to avoid spreading
  • Always apply the cleaning fluid to the absorbent spotting material not directly onto the carpet or fabric
  • Encourage quick drying
  • Deal with stains as quickly as possible for increased chances of success
  • Keep the fabric or carpet as dry as possible.
  • If in doubt, don't! Call in a professional carpet cleaner
